What a wonderful day

19th April 2017

Our first wedding fair and it was an amazing success.

Shaun and Julie would like to say a massive thank you to all the exhibitors and special thanks to our staff who worked so hard to make the day run smoothly.

I was in the Grand Hall, registering  Brides and giving out the fantastic goody bags with the rest of the office team. There was an amazing turnout of brides and even grooms too! They came from far and wide – with our brides that travelled the furthest coming from Amersham just north west of London and from near Manchester. The magnum of Champagne was won by Naomi – a bride who came all the way from Worksop, many thanks to Hallgarten Wines for the kind donation.

The exhibitors stands all looked absolutely stunning, with everything needed to plan a wedding under one roof including the fabulous Registrars from Lincolnshire County Council, so many couples left armed with information and suppliers left with bookings.

The feedback from Brides and Grooms was amazing, they were impressed by our house canapes, which were delicious – I did have to taste test (a hard job but someone had to!), I also managed to get one of the reception drinks, a cheeky glass of Bucks Fizz, served out of our wicker baskets, such a stylish way to serve your reception drinks, especially when guests are enjoying the sunshine in our gardens, while you have your photos taken.

The highlights of the day for me were the fashion showcase and the entertainment provided by Sharp Edge Entertainment.

The surprised looks on the faces of some guests as one of the waiters interrupted the singer was priceless. It was not one of our staff making a huge faux pas– phew! but one of the singing and dancing waiters from Sharpe Edge Entertainment and all part of the show. This is the link to see it for yourself.

The Fashion showcase featured dresses and suits from Osh Gosh Gowns with hair by Xandria’s Hair and makeup by Natalie Kate – Make-Up Artist. There were a stunning array of gowns and each bride had a hair and makeup theme to compliment, from bohemian and glamour through Great Gatsby inspired vintage. The Grooms looked handsome in their suits, and the flower girls and bridesmaid were gorgeous.

We’ve already started thinking about doing it all again next year.
